We keep a small house. Each room carries the name of a knitting pattern the coast still works, and each holds a panel the atelier looms wove. Nightly rates are shared with you at booking.

The Selburose Suite
A corner suite under carved dragon gables, its walls hung with a coverlet the house looms wove in the eight-point pattern. Two windows open onto the pasture and the long southern evenings.
A high loft room in painted pine, banded in the speckled knitting motif that names it, with a reading bench set into the eave and a view to the valley floor.
A ground-floor room off the weaving atelier, close to the looms and the house's working rhythms, its bedhead a woven panel in the coastal star pattern.
A glazed pavilion of white-painted iron and cherrywood tables where a handful of evening games are set out under the pasture sky. Table stakes are kept modest and the room stays calm.

The counter & the tea salon
The weaving atelier and the slow-coffee counter
We keep a slow-coffee counter of single Valdres farms, ground and poured through the morning. The kitchen cooks from the pasture and the upland farms, nothing travels far to reach the table.

The Casino, the glazed pasture pavilion
Under the glass we set out a few evening games on cherrywood tables. The room stays quiet and unhurried; table stakes are kept modest, and it is one evening amenity of the house rather than its centre.

Heat, still water, and the harbour crossing
We keep a timber sauna warm through the afternoon and a small seawater pool for those who want to settle into the quiet before the walk back up to the house. Across the harbour, the last clinker builder keeps his boatyard open to guests who wish to watch a hull take shape.

Stewardship of the estate
We keep the house as we were given it
The dragon-timber house has stood since the 1890s. We repair with the same pine and the same joinery, and we buy close, wool for the looms, food for the table, coffee from farms we can walk to.

Lamb, trout and roots from neighbouring Valdres farms; coffee from single upland holdings.
Wool for the looms
Fleece from the pasture flocks is spun and woven in the atelier for the coverlets on every bed.
Timber repair
The gables and panelling are mended in kind, keeping the carved work rather than replacing it.
Water & heat
The sauna and pool run on measured wood heat, and the house holds the valley's own water.
